- 12 inch Carcase Saw -

Effective immediately (21 November 2015), I have stopped taking new orders for custom backsaws. For a full explanation, please read this blog entry.

This is the most used saw in my workshop. Large enough to cut most of the tenons found in cabinetmaking, yet nimble enough to cut dovetails in all but the thinnest stock, this is close to being an all-purpose saw. Specifications as follow:

• Twelve inch blade length.
• Three inch depth of cut.
• Standard tooth configuration of 12 or 13 ppi (for rip teeth), 13 or 14 ppi (for cross cut teeth), or 13 ppi (for hybrid teeth). Not sure what ppi means? Don't worry - it's all explained here - and if you still have questions, please let me know.

• Available in 0.020" and 0.025" plate thicknesses.

• Handles are available in a range of sizes to fit most any hand.
• Handedness: Left-hand models have the bolt heads and stamp on what is traditionally the "back" side of the saw. There is no difference in the shape of the handle or filing.
